Step one: Measure the Floor Area

When ordering hardwood flooring, allow a minimum of 10-12 percent extra for irregular woods or any cutting mistake.

Step two: Check for a Squeaky Floor

  • On the second row, lock the tongue and groove, tap them together with a mallet, and block a tight fit between the boards.
  • Blind nail the second row through the tongue and repeat the process until it can use flooring nailer.
  • On the last row, cut the pieces to fit, measuring the distance from the wall to the boar, and reduce the expansion gap.
  • Install the transition pieces in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and remove spacers.
